Tampa BayCycle was a great event. I rode my bicycle for the first time to work and it was a scary but amazing experience.

Thanks so much for your encouragement.

I actually got out and tried riding my bike because of this promotion. Great job!

Thanks so much for getting Tampa BayCycle going!!

I stopped driving in 1980 or 1981 because cars are just too expensive. Since then, I've found so many good reasons to keep it up bicyclng. I ride a bicycle and use a bicycle trailer for most transportation needs.

I've been bicycling in Pinellas County for 9 1/2 years. The Florida Bicycle Association www.floridabicycle.org has a lot of good info on laws and safety techniques. Time, education, and practice will make bicycling less scary and more fun.

I'm looking forward to more of Tampa BayCycle! :)

I do quite a bit of riding around Tampa Bay. Glad to see this Blog site and thanks for creating it!

I had an idea for a T-shirt that has "Maintain the 6-foot rule!" with an arrow pointing left across the back of the shirt in colors that cars could see easily. Any ideas on where to go with this?

Also, I recently encountered 2 loose pit bulls that took a bit of maneuvering to get away from. Does anyone have an idea of what to use (a spray or something?) in this situation.

All comments appreciated!

I've been riding more and more to work and other places since buying a used bike last november. even sold my car a few months back and bought a scooter. Tampa BayCycle motivated me a bit more and I think is a great idea.

I suggest having a place on the site for people to publish photos of their bikes with details about how they set them up. this might be very helpful for first time commuters.

Sharon, did you mean the "Three foot Rule"? I WISH it was six feet!

A good anti-dog spray is called "Halt"...I don't know if they still make it, but the stuff works great. My only other suggestion is to work on your sprinting technique!
