National Park (ing) Day

National Park(ing) Day 2008, an annual event, happening in Tampa Bay on September 19th, celebrates parks in cities by creating temporary parks in public parking spaces. National Park(ing) Day is an all-volunteer event, and any participation is welcome. One can, build his or her own park, help others build parks, or simply visit Park(ing) Day parks throughout the day. Look at www.tpl.org/parkingday for details, a how-to manual, photos and videos, or to connect with participants near you.

Trail to Trail Race series:
Round 1 = Aug 3rd -Loyce Harpe Park –Lakeland FL
Round 2 = Aug 17 –Santos -Ocala FL
Round 3 = Sept 21th - Loyce Harpe Park Lakeland FL -Trail to be Raced Backwards.
Race fees are just $25 per event. ** Special -Enter the first two events and get the 3rd race for just $15 !!
We have several new sponsors and some AWESOME cash and prizes!!!
Trail to Trail Race Description:
The event is a one of a kind race bringing Mountain Bikers and Road Racers together for some great fun and competition. There will be team and solo categories as well as an “all mountain” class for those who want to take the challenge on one bike.
The race starts with a 35-45 minute off road mountain bike race where racers compete on single track trails and after completion of the off road course they will then saddle up for a 30-35 mile road course that will bring them back to the park to then complete another lap on the mountain bike course.

Hillsborough County Bicycle Survey
Please take a few minutes to complete this short on-line bicycle survey for the Hillsborough MPO.

Results will be used in the development of the Comprehensive Bicycle Plan: for prioritizing types of bicycle facilities; where they are needed; and what safety programs would help get more people to try cycling.
Bicyclists have diverse cycling skills and experiences, so it would be best to get a large number and variety of survey respondents. Please circulate this survey to your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers.
